Cabane D’Ornay

The Cabane D’Ornay is a mountain hut at 2830m altitude on the Swiss side of the Mont Blanc massif. It’s a long, hard climb up to the hut from the valley below but when you get there, the views and the hospitality make it all worth while. These photos were taken in late August after the first snow of the season fell while we overnighted at the hut. It was a magical early morning hike down to the village of Champex.
